Mitsubishi launches L200 Barbarian SVP II

Mitsubishi has launched the L200 Barbarian SVP II, building on the success of the original limited edition SVP version. You can read our review of that model here: https://www.simplymotor.co.uk/2018/02/review-mitsubishi-l200-barbarian-svp.html.

Only 250 will be produced: half in pearlescent Diamond Black and the other half in metallic Atlantic Grey. This time the contrasting details are orange which will no doubt turn heads and cause much debate down the pub. One thing you can be sure of is that you wouldn’t lose it in a car park!

On the outside the orange-ness comprises 17-inch bespoke black and orange alloy wheels with BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, together with a new SVP grille and roof rails, fog lamp surround, front and rear light bezels, door handle recess covers, puddle lamps and tailgate handle surround.

Inside, the ‘six-pack’ leather seats with have orang-accented panelling, stitching and piping. Each SVP II’s individual limited edition number, plus the SVP logo, is stitched into the headrests and there’s also a unique ‘SVP’ embossed mat set with orange piping. The distinctive theme continues with orange illuminated door entry guards and front and rear foot-well mood lighting.

Standard equipment of the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II includes Mitsubishi Smartphone Link Display Audio (SDA) system, rain and dusk sensors, keyless operation, Bluetooth, Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, cruise control and reversing camera.

Power is provided by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, with a choice of either six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters. All models have selectable four-wheel drive with low range and differential lock to conquer even the most challenging terrain.

The Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II is available to order now, with the first deliveries commencing in May, and is priced from £29,830 (excluding VAT) for both grey and black versions.
