How to give your car a bit of a facelift

Sometimes we can look at our cars and realise that they are looking a little sorry for themselves. We know our trusty and reliable runarounds deserve to look the best that they can so here are a few tips on how to give your car a simple facelift to bring them back to their former glory.

Call in the pros

Sometimes our cars can look a little dogeared due to a few prangs and bumps here and there and sometimes it’s just time to pass your beloved runaround over to the professionals. Look for a local company like SE Panels Repairs if your car needs any dents knocking out, any panels beating or any minor or major damage that needs looking at.

Wax on wax off

Many car owners have never actually waxed their car and it’s an essential part of keeping your motors looking in ship shape condition. For those of you that have never waxed your car before, it’s actually much more simple than you might think and within an hour or two of waxing your car from top to bottom, you can have your car looking like it did on the first day that you brought it home.

Paint job

Scuffed and chipped paint is part and parcel of owning a car, but it’s also a sure fire way, when not dealt with, that our cars can look old and a little bit sad. This doesn’t have to be a job for the pros however as it’s quite an easy job to get done so it’s definitely one that you can take on yourself, if you have the time. Check out an online paint job tutorial on the basic steps on how to give your car a nice, reviving paint job.

De-clutter

Now is the time to head into the interior of the car. With the interior of the car often being far messier than the interior, this part can take quite a reasonable amount of time. With the amount of time we spend in our cars it’s no wonder we can accumulate so much clutter and mess and no car is going to look good when full of months of neglect and thoughtlessness. Therefore, get a bin bag and get to work mucking out all the empty wrappers, containers, useless papers and general mess that has accumulated since your last clear out.

Get the vacuum out

It may sound like a run of the mill job but actually vacuuming your car can be quite tricky if you want to do a really good job. As there are so many little nooks and crannies in the interior of your car, that are hard to get to, you are going to need to be really thorough and dedicated to the task in hand. Take out all the floor mats and vacuum them separately, use the finest vacuum nozzle for all those hard to reach areas and really get to work on all the car seats until your car is looking as good as new.
