Suzuki Swift Sport choice of Corrie star
The BCC Bolton Suzuki dealership in Lancashire has handed over a brand new Suzuki Swift Sport to Coronation Street actor, Mikey North.
The 31-year-old, who plays labourer Gary Windass on the cobbles, passed his driving test on the second series of E4’s All Star Driving School, and celebrated his achievement by buying the hot hatch as his first car.
Mikey is one of nine celebrities to take driving lessons in the latest generation five-door Swift supermini on the current season of the reality TV show.
Following some expert tuition, and a little help from family and friends, he successfully conquered his long-running phobia of getting behind the wheel to finally ditch the L-plates.
Commenting on the handover of the Swift Sport, Stephen Wilson, Sales Manager at BCC Suzuki Bolton, said: “We would like to congratulate Mikey on passing his test. The Swift Sport is an ideal car for him to have some responsible fun in out on the road, whilst offering plenty of space to accommodate family and friends.”
“We wish Mikey many miles of happy motoring and we are very pleased that he is now part of the Suzuki family”.
Actor Mikey North added: “I really enjoyed driving the Swift during the TV show, and got used to it very quickly. Therefore, when it came to deciding which model to buy as my first car, the Swift Sport, which I have had my eye on for a while, was always the logical choice.”
“I am very much looking forward to my new found freedom and returning the favour of giving a lift to all those who have helped me out during the last few years. I am sure that there will be no shortage of people wanting a ride!”
The all-new Swift Sport is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged Boosterjet engine and offers a comprehensive specification as standard. We have one coming for review later in the year, so keep your eyes peeled for more.
