Say hello to the new kids on the block

Most industries have been knocked into disarray by modern technology. Unlike in the past, where the most valuable companies would always have an advantage; it’s becoming easier for small businesses to take the lead. This has created staggeringly huge ecosystems for products like computers and phones. But, it’s also impacted the cars you drive. The auto industry has been one of the biggest in the world for many decades. Nowadays, though, things are in flux. And, new contenders are popping up everywhere. To show you this trend, this post will be going through three different types of car. And, the modern alternatives you have available to you.

The market for small cars rarely changes. At the moment, the best examples come from Vauxhall, Ford, and VW. Or, at least, that’s what most people tend to think. But, there are actually loads of new competitors out there who are giving these cars a run for their money. Offering much cheaper cars, companies like Hyundai are starting to break into this field. The Hyundai i20 is a great example of a small car like this. Since this car started to hit the market, a lot of people have started going for it. Even as a standard model, the i20 comes packed with tech like touchscreen navigation and heated seats. This makes it perfect for people looking for their first car, but don’t want to get anything but the best.

Hatchbacks are one of the most popular types of car on the road. Typically, these cars are used by families and professionals to be able to accommodate a family. Like small cars, similar companies have always dominated this market. But, times are changing. And, so are cars. This year, the Tesla’s new Model 3 is set for release. This is an upgraded version of a car they have already. It promises to add a lot of new features to their line-up; including the potential for it to be self-driving in the future. This car has been designed to fit into the budget of an average family. This makes the car affordable and realistic to own, unlike their Model S.

Last, on this list, comes SUVs. Sports utility vehicles have become very popular in recent years amongst loads of different drivers. These sorts of cars are great for those that want to be able to take adventures in the same vehicle they use to get to work. Of course, though, they’re not usually very economical. In the past, Land Rover had the monopoly in this area. But, nowadays, loads of companies are coming out with new SUVs. A great example is the Vauxhall Mokka. Before the Mokka, Vauxhall hadn’t made a care like this for over a decade. But, you see a lot of them on the road.

Hopefully, this will inspire you to start looking at the underdogs when you next go to buy a car. No longer are smaller companies restricted by quality. Instead, they have the chance to use better things while still matching your budget.
